Not long ago I had an invitation to join in on a detox. After first thoughts, as I already had a detox try, which I had to cancel half way through, I decided to give it a try. As I was pretty curious how I would do about this one. The set-up is for a three day juice cleanse and comes with everything you would need for these three days. So I decided let’s give it a try on the three day Juice Delight Cleanse by Detox Delight.
The three days package includes six bottles of different juices for each of the days. Thanks to the HPP, a special and very gentle way of preserving all the good vitamins. This way the juices also have a longer storability and you can jump into your detox whenever it’s a perfect time for you. I thought why not to prepare my body for the two weeks of beer madness just before the Oktoberfest. And got into the detox on a Monday morning. Each of the days I had those six different juices to drink: Black Beauty, Roots on Fire, Heartbeet, Liquid Salad, Shineapple and Going Nuts ( a nut milk). Each of the juices contains 0.5l, which sums up to 3l of juice per day. Pretty much, huh? In term of calories your daily intake would be at around 1200 kcal, which is ok when you are on a quick diet. I would usually try to have an intake of at least 1800 kcal just not to slow down my metabolism.
But now on the fun part. Did I make it through the three days?
I often read how easy such kind of cleanse was and how good everybody felt. So I was very curious how it would be with me. I started the first day with Black Beauty and followed then after a while with Roots on Fire, up to here everything was pretty fine. Then I made myself a tea with guarana just to get awake as I’m a big caffeine junkie. Around lunch the first headaches kicked in. Which is o.k. as I was low on coffee and was not used to drinking that much juice at a time. On to afternoon I got a massive migraine and had to stop the detox on that evening. But I didn’t want to just finish like that. I read on Detox Delight page about the possibility of going “liquid till lunch” and liked the idea of drinking juice until your lunch meal. Which is what I did on the following days and actually loved it and had no problems or what so ever.
Did I recognize any changes?
Nope. But I wasn’t detoxing in full mode so that would be for sure a point. What changed since the detox experience is that I eat more fruits and veggies again. And changing my diet excluding more meats and eating a bit more greens.
I think I’m generally not a person to go on detox. But a goal would be to eat as healthy as possible most of time. What I would for sure do when I feel like I need a vitamin kick is the “liquid till lunch” thing. And there for Detox Delight would be the best source to get you juice from.
