Beginning of this summer I started working out again and did not stop working out since then, well I paused for a week or two as I got sick. I even signed up at the gym and have been working out on a regular basis 3-5 times a week, depending on my daily workload. And I would say that I’m actually quite proud of myself for sticking to my routine. How? I have few simple tricks to motivated myself to get out of bed and start my Monday morning with a 7 a.m. Yoga class. So I wanted to share my top 5 tips with you.
1. Set A Date
Each Monday morning I’m having a date, a Yoga class date. Since I signed up at the gym I started setting appointments for workout on 3 days a week. It really works wonders, just like a meeting I try not skip it and this way I stick to my workouts.
2. Early Bird…
Just as the saying goes I try to be early bird and schedule all my workouts if possible in the morning. This way you start the day full of energy and there is no need to think when to squeeze in a workout and can spend the perfect summer nights at a Biergarten with friends. And with the heat wave right now morning workouts are a refreshing plus.
3. Workout Buddies
Recently I started enjoying teaming up for a work out, which is quite new to me as I always worked out alone. Now I either team up with a friend or with my hubs. This way you are having a set date and it’s harder to skip and you it’s a great way to motivate each other.
4. Variety Is The Key
Before I would usually go for my set pace for a run. After running it few times I would get bored and after max. 3 or bit more month I would start slaking. Now I try mix my workouts, this way I not only don’t get bored I reach different muscles each time I work out. Right now my weekly routine starts with yoga on Monday, muscle training and a bit cardio on Wednesday and Friday and if I have time I go for another class, which would be something about functional training on weekend.
5. Pretty Gear
Sounds like a stereotype and pretty odd. But when I first signed up the gym I went crazy workout gear shopping. Which is very motivating as I can’t wait to get into my workout piece and get some sweat on.
